Let's talk about real female empowerment & how important women are to the music industry. We add a certain spice, a different energy, & these two, deservingly, are needed to represent how vast our reach is in the world. Polar opposite of flow, content, etc. I applaud both these ladies for what they have done these past few weeks. • @rapsody, a true lyricist & emcee, needs far more accolades since "She Got Game" I met her at SXSW & of course I had to introduce myself & say my peace as a fan. We needed her. I told her to keep going. Months later she blessed us with #LaliasWisdom. Before it even dropped, I knew this album was gonna be a problem. Features alone (K. Dot, Black Thought, Busta, Anderson, BJ + more) I knew the album was gonna be insane. Album of the year, easily. I appreciated how I didn't have to hear how wet her pussy was, how many bitches is her sons etc. (I love all of that too lol) She gave us bars, jams, love & motivation without tearing any of her counterparts down. Much respect. My favorite rapper is better than your favorite rapper & we got receipts! • @iamcardib, my spirit animal of sorts, a hustler, her #1 billboard shows if you put in the work & you're genuine you can climb mountains. All of the female rappers reached out to congratulate her because truth be told, it was time for her to win. Her win feels like a win to us all. Even if you don't like her or her music, you can't deny Bodak Yellow is a HIT. What I can appreciate from Cardi is that she's true to herself. We often try to shape artist into what we idolize them to be & forget they're people first. • I'll continuously root for both of these ladies & any female artist because it's time that we have multiple female rappers at a time, not just 1. Another artist success does dim any one else's light. There shouldn't be just one when there can be DOZENS. • Cardi can win. Rapsody can win. Nicki can win. Azealia Banks can win (that's on her why she isn't IMO). Dreezy can win. Kari Faux can win. kamaiyah can win. Dej Loaf can win. Trina can win. Kim can win. Noname can win. Tink can win. Young Ma can win. + MORE I'm inspired, so get inspired. Thank you ladies💛#WCW
